What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Engineer – Aircraft Electrical System Architecture (MBSE & ARP Standards) position at SyberJet Aircraft?
We are seeking a Systems Engineer with expertise in Aircraft Electrical System Architecture and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to join our team. This role will focus on developing aircraft electrical system architecture, ensuring compliance with Aerospace ARP Standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and integrating low-voltage aircraft electrical systems, leading technical activities, and collaborating cross-functionally to drive system development from concept to certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and define aircraft electrical system architecture, including low-voltage power distribution, networking, and avionics interfaces.
- Utilize MBSE methodologies to develop system models, architecture diagrams, and functional flows for aircraft electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with Aerospace ARP standards (e.g., ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-160, DO-178C, DO-254) and regulatory requirements.
- Define system and sub-system level requirements, electrical design specifications, and test cases.
- Perform trade studies, DFMEA, and functional hazard assessments (FHA) to evaluate and mitigate risks in the electrical architecture.
- Design and validate power distribution systems, communication networks (ARINC 429, ARINC 664, CAN, LIN, Ethernet), and avionics interfaces.
- Develop and execute system-level and vehicle-level testing to validate electrical performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to ensure system integration and certification compliance.
- Lead system troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Document lessons learned, best practices, and design guidelines for continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in aircraft electrical system architecture development.
- Proficiency in MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo/MagicDraw, SysML, Rhapsody).
- Experience with Aerospace ARP Standards (ARP4754A, ARP4761), DO-160, DO-178C, and DO-254 compliance.
- Strong background in electrical systems design, power distribution, and aerospace communication networks (ARINC 429, ARINC 664, CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
- Ability to analyze system performance, perform failure analysis, and drive design improvements.
- Experience with JIRA, Agile workflows, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in business jet or commercial aircraft development.
- Familiarity with FAA certification processes and CS-23/CS-25 requirements.
- Knowledge of Siemens Capital, MATLAB/Simulink, and electrical simulation tools.
