Your role
1. Time studies: Complete time studies on different processes across the plant, taking note of value-added versus non-value added steps, and any recommendations. These studies and recommendations would then be reviewed with management looking for best practices, learnings, or other issues.
2. Process Improvement: Work closely with team members to identify bottleneck areas, measure critical parameters, propose solutions, implement solutions, measure and quantify the results. This could involve anything from creating shadow boards to leading Kaizen events, implementing 5S, Statistical Process Control, etc.
3. SOP Writing & Validation: Write and or review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and look for best practices.
i. Equipment - Dryers, Reactors, RO, RTO, Pasteurizers, High Pressure Pumps, etc. (start-up, running, shutdown, troubleshooting)
ii. Maintenance
iii. Documenting standard processes
Applicants should be currently enrolled in an accredited program pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering or similar. Ideal candidates also have the following skills/experiences:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Course studies or work experience with Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must have strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Self-motivated and self-directed with sense of urgency
- Have strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Must have strong attention to detail.
