- A successful candidate in this role will be committed to quality legal work, attention to detail, and will be hard-working, industrious, and possess the personal attributes of honesty, intelligence, and utmost integrity.
- Personally handle a file load of personal injury and medical malpractice cases
- Extensive client interaction including intake and subsequent communications
- Prepare demands and negotiate successful resolutions on behalf of clients
- Attend and advocate for clients at depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trial
- Independently research, interpret and apply legal principles in the context of motion practice and litigation
- Attend and participate in weekly team meetings relating to the evaluation and advancement of injury and malpractice cases
- Work collaboratively with senior attorneys, junior attorneys, and paralegals in litigating complex medical negligence and serious injury cases
- Active involvement in all phases of client representation from intake, initial office conferences, case development, demand, negotiation, and resolution
- Five or more years of experience
- Client focused experience - personally demonstrate that both external and internal clients are a high priority by identifying, and responding to their needs in a timely and efficient manner
- Experience in Personal Injury Litigation
- Experience in Complex Litigation
- Experience in Medical Malpractice Litigation
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Strong academic credentials
- Advanced analytical skills
- Strong time management skills
- Strong writing and oral communication skills
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Fully licensed to practice law in Rhode Island. Licensing in Massachusetts, and/or Connecticut is a plus
