Summary:
A leading Heavy Equipment Manufacturer is looking to hire a Senior Accountant in Sarasota, Florida. The company manufactures industrial recycling equipment.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive reviews and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to verify their correctness and alignment with accounting standards (US GAAP).
* Complete reviews on time, clearly documenting discrepancies along with corrective actions to prevent future issues, and outlining steps for addressing any unresolved items.
* Identify weaknesses in the internal control framework, suggest improvements, and help implement corrective actions to maintain strong internal controls.
* Work collaboratively with teams across departments to provide valuable financial insights and support decision-making on various initiatives (such as ERP system rollouts).
* Prepare Capital Expenditure proposals, ensure each business case is fully justified, and submit to the Head Office for approval.
* Perform in-depth reviews of income statements, providing thorough variance analysis across different business divisions.
* Develop cost center budgets and conducting monthly reviews to explain significant budget variances, communicating these results to department heads.
* Contribute to the creation of financial reports, ensuring they are accurate and submitted within required timelines.
Qualifications:
* 4 years of professional Accounting experience.
* Bachelors degree in Accounting.
* CPA/CA licensure or in process of obtaining.
* Previous experience with balance sheet reconciliations, income statement analysis, and internal controls.
* Enhanced understanding of US GAAP.
* Proficient in Accounting Software and Microsoft Excel.
Preferred:
* 2 years working in national corporation setting is a plus.
* Previous experience working for Manufacturing facility is highly preferred.
