A reputable Heavy Civil Contractor is seeking a highly experienced Senior / Chief Estimator to join their team for projects in the western region of Virginia, Maryland and portions of West Virginia. This is a premier opportunity to lead the estimating team on significant heavy civil projects and advance into an executive-level role.

Role Overview

As Chief Estimator, you will oversee estimating operations for heavy civil construction projects, including site development (excavation, grading, utilities), DOT projects, and concrete / asphalt work. You will interact with private, state, and federal clients while leading a team of estimators.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the estimating team on various heavy civil projects.

Develop accurate cost estimates for projects exceeding $5M.

Collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver competitive proposals.

Utilize and implement estimating tools and software, including AGTEK and HCSS (preferred).

Support organizational growth through strategic estimating practices and mentoring the estimating team.

Experience

Minimum of 10 years as a full-time Estimator or Senior Estimator in site development, DOT projects, and concrete / asphalt paving.

Proven track record of estimating projects exceeding $5M.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in AGTEK and HCSS software is preferred but not required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

160K-$180K / year, based on qualifications.

Salary : $160,000 - $180,000
