What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Addiction Peer Recovery Coach (CAPRC /CPSP) - Recovery Residence position at Synergy Recovery Network?
Synergy is growing again! We are looking to add experienced Peer Recovery Coaches to our team. The ideal individual will have a strong desire to serve others in their journey to recovery!
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate weekly House Meeting, ensuring all resident chore assignments are fulfilled explaining any duties, answering any questions, and assisting in the resolution of any problems which may arise.
- Orient all new residents to rules and regulations of residency including meals, chores, curfews, phone, smoking, mail, signing in and out, etc.
- Listen carefully to their peers to assist in the development and execution of strength-based plans
- Help peers and/or those supported achieve planned goals by modeling, mentoring, advocating and coaching.
- Ensures Peer participation in required programming such as IOP, Therapy, Case Management etc.
- Leads & assists participants in the completion of weekly schedules.
- Assist residents in identifying personal and community-based strengths and resources.
- Provide, as needed, one-on-one and other forms of support at meetings, family meetings, special events, groups, meetings, in court, and in other required settings.
- Help peers navigate the recovery support network and adhere to their relapse plans.
- Can assist the individual and their family with the development and implementation of a plan for relapse prevention, recovery and maintenance of recovery
- Assist with navigating the service array and with identifying culturally and/or gender responsive services and supports.
- Help the individual identify, build and strengthen their circle of support
- Assist individual with acquiring appropriate documents such as driver’s license, food stamps etc.
- Can assist with groups, workshops, or provide psychoeducation on addictions, wellness, recovery and resiliency.
- Provide individual attention and support to residents as necessary, encouraging resident participation in A.A., N.A.., sponsorship relationship, and employment-educational needs.
- Assist consumers with identifying personal strengths in daily living and recovery skills.
Education and Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Prior Completion of the Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CAPRC, CARC, CPSP) certification is required.
- 2 years of experience in behavioral health or addiction treatment, or sales and marketing within the healthcare/treatment/recovery industry
- Life experience with or in recovery is preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- A passion and desire to help others in their journey to recovery
