Job Description

T&R Construction is a utility and civil construction company based in Salina, KS. We are looking to hire a Human Resource Manager to work full-time.

The Human Resource Manager will le- ad and direct the routine function of the Human Resources department including but not limited to hiring and interviewing staff, administering weekly pay, managing employee benefits, enforcing company policies and procedures. The right candidate will be punctual, reliable, have excellent organization skills, ability to work with other office staff, strong work ethic and have great attention to detail.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting and retention.
  • Provides support and guidance to leadership and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodation, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Performs the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Ability to expand or create company policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • A minimum of three years of human resource management experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Salina, KS: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
