JOB SUMMARY
The Safety and Training Coordinator administers, reviews, coordinates, reports on, and conducts a wide variety of training and safety planning for the organization. Will be responsible for records maintenance, scheduling, and reporting on safety and training activities for all employees. In conjunction with the leadership team, this role will keep abreast of regulations governing safe work practices and will be responsible for the administrative tasks associated with policy updates, training and compliance reporting. The position will be based out of Galveston TX.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree in a related field and 0-2 years of relevant professional experience preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local regulatory safety standards.
- The ability to balance multiple tasks, along with strong communication skills is essential.
- Excellent computer skills required. Must have experience with Microsoft Office Programs.
- Must have Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
- Valid Passport (or must obtain within 30 days of employment).
- Prior experience in an administrative support role preferred.
- Travel to job site locations will be required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and oversee training accounts (HASC, Moxie, ISN Accounts) for all personnel.
- Review and assign programs based off industry specific requirements and schedule training courses internally and externally.
- Maintain company records and historical files of all training, briefing and meetings in appropriate database. Prepare and deliver safety reports,
- Assist in developing and maintaining safety programs, including policies, training and safety orientations.
- Vetting and maintaining records for 3rd party contractors and vendors.
- Assist in hazard identification and risk assessment activities and enforcing preventative measures.
- Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment).
- Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
- Keep records of investigated incidents.
- Perform internal and external safety audits in conjunction with the Safety Specialists/Managers.
- Coordinate with field personnel to obtain job safety analysis and safety meeting records.
- Maintain inventory of PPE and first aid equipment. Ensure all personnel are properly equipped with safety equipment.
- Participation in the T&T Safety Committee.
- Continuously work towards improving personal knowledge base and remaining aware of emerging technologies and trends in the EHS environment
- Other duties as assigned relevant to EHS activities
SHIFT INFORMATION
The standard work schedule for a Safety and Training Coordinator is Monday-Friday, 0700-1600; however, this work schedule may vary and include overtime, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of travel.
