We have an outstanding Contract position for a Product Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join a leading Company located in the Vista, CA surrounding area.
Pay Rate: $21.67
**US Citizenship is required.**
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties; may work out of a central warehouse.
- Uses computer system for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting. Follows shipping practices and procedures, and transportation routing, schedules and requirements.
- Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. (Un)packs or (un)wraps items such as finished products, raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc.
- Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications; logs receipt of items on system, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents; reports materials shipped and bills of lading; posts weight and shipping charges and routes merchandise to destinations.
- Performs non-routine tasks which may involve some use of judgment and initiative in the shipping and receiving of materials, supplies and equipment.
- Under general supervision, prepares record of goods shipped and received and bill of lading, posts weights and shipping charges and maintains shipping record files.
- May operate forklift and prepare goods for final shipment, under limited supervision.
- Receives some instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.
- Uses professional concepts to solve a variety of problems.
- Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where limited judgment is required.
- Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
- Decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules.
- Interacts daily with supervisors, peer groups, and internal and external customers.
- Interaction normally involves exchange or presentation of factual information.
- May serve in a lead role and train others.
- Normally receives some instruction on routine work, general instruction on new assignments.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
- High school education or equivalent and 3 year of related experience.
- Having some knowledge and experience, able to handle unusual occurring job events.
- Stockroom experience that includes receiving, put away, kitting, cycle counting and shipment of various materials.
- Good data entry skills are required to accurately complete daily transactions as required.
- Material Handling experience using various handling equipment (e.g: forklifts) to move material throughout Manufacturing locations.
- Stockroom and Warehouse experience, good math skill and interpersonal skills.
- Candidate must be able to work both independently and with a group in moving material to and from work cells.
Desired Qualifications:
- Receiving and Shipping experience.
- Good understanding of Material Control and Movement processes and data entry skills.
- Familiar with use of material handling equipment including forklifts.
- Must have this experience and a solid job history. No job hoppers.
