Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Safety Manager to join our team at Takco Construction. The Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safety measures and protocols on construction sites or project sites to ensure the well-being of all personnel and the prevention of accidents, injuries, and property damage. This role requires proactive safety planning, inspection, training, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Planning: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety plans and policies for construction/project sites.
- Site Inspections: Regularly inspect the site to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Safety Training: Provide safety orientation and training to all personnel, subcontractors, and visitors on-site.
- Incident Reporting: Investigate and report accidents, incidents, near-misses, and safety violations. Develop corrective action plans as needed.
- Emergency Response: Develop and communicate emergency response plans and procedures, including evacuation and first-aid protocols.
- Safety Equipment: Ensure the availability and proper use of safety equipment and personal protective gear (PPE).
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal safety regulations and ensure site compliance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate safety records, incident reports, and training documentation.
- Safety Communication: Foster a culture of safety by regularly communicating safety updates and initiatives to project stakeholders.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and collaborate with project management to implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Safety Meetings: Organize and lead safety meetings and toolbox talks to address safety concerns and educate workers.
- Safety Audits: Perform regular safety audits and recommend improvements to enhance safety performance.
Qualifications:
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour, OSHA 500, NEBOSH) is an advantage.
- Previous experience in construction/project site safety management.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with project teams.
- Ability to perform site inspections.
