Responsibilities
- Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, with precision and creativity.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality by conducting regular inventory checks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service during peak hours.
- Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi items or seasonal specials based on market trends.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food handling practices.
- Monitor food waste and implement strategies to minimize it while maximizing quality.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, knife skills, and food safety standards.
- Familiarity with catering services is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- A passion for Japanese cuisine and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
- Certification in food handling or culinary arts is preferred but not mandatory.
