What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Writer position at Talascend LLC?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Labor Time Development
Come up with times and launches – put together the labor time on putting together the parts
Mark up pdf’s doc and send it to labor time author
Take those rough times and build a time study – writing about what goes into building and the timelines on how long each process takes
Have that sent over to a data processing team to release to dealerships
Labor times get built before vehicles get sent to the dealerships
Timelines varies – could have a year to complete or a couple weeks before the vehicles have to get sent out
The main function of a Technical Writer is to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing and maintaining technical records and files.
Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology
Maintain records and files of work and revisions
Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication
REQUIREMENTS:
Foundation vehicle and systems knowledge
Technical experience within automotive
Willing to learn and understanding of vehicles
Open to education
0-2 years’ experience required
Experience in in creating documentation for a technical audience
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
Ability to read some programming code
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
ASE Preferred
