About the Role:
Talbot Interfaith Shelter (TIS) is seeking a talented and motivated Marketing and Development Assistant to support our efforts in growing visibility and expanding our mission. Reporting to the Marketing and Development Director, this position plays a vital role in implementing marketing and development strategies, fostering donor relationships, and supporting fundraising initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing:
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Development Director to execute a comprehensive marketing plan.
- Create compelling, targeted messaging for donors, volunteers, and outreach initiatives.
- Manage and compose communications, including newsletters, appeal letters, email campaigns, press releases, and website updates.
- Maintain an engaging social media presence with branded templates and scheduled posts.
- Oversee website updates to ensure timely, relevant content and work with designers as needed.
- Develop video content, including mission-related profiles, for marketing channels.
- Build and maintain relationships with local media outlets and serve as a spokesperson as required.
- Assist in the creation of print, radio, and TV advertising campaigns, as well as brochures, flyers, and other marketing collateral.
Development:
- Work with the Marketing and Development Director to create a grant application strategy, research opportunities, and write grant applications.
- Maintain grant schedules and ensure accurate tracking of deadlines and deliverables.
- Support fundraising events, including planning, volunteer recruitment, on-site coordination, and promotion.
- Reach out to businesses for sponsorships and assist with donor appreciation initiatives.
- Organize and execute physical mailings, including donor segmentation research and managing volunteers.
- Maintain and update the donor database and provide reports as requested.
General Duties:
- Track and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns and refine strategies based on data.
- Stay updated on marketing and development trends through professional training.
- Represent TIS at events, meetings, and public functions, serving as a host or presenter.
- Provide input and updates during board and development committee meetings.
