Foundry Superintendent - Gray Iron Foundry Division

Location: Medley, Florida
Reports to: Plant Manager

Job Summary:
The Foundry Superintendent oversees daily operations in a gray iron foundry, utilizing a cupola melting process to meet production targets, ensure quality control, and maintain safety standards. The role includes managing a skilled team, optimizing production, and adhering to ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) standards. We welcome candidates with varying levels of foundry supervisory experience and offer flexibility based on skills and leadership potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production Oversight: Lead daily operations of melting, molding, and casting processes to achieve production goals.
• Cupola Operations: Manage cupola furnace operations, ensuring optimal efficiency and quality in the melting process.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure products meet ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, minimizing scrap and ensuring high-quality castings.
• Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce a strong safety culture in compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop foundry personnel, fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Process Improvement: Implement lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Maintenance: Coordinate preventive maintenance of the cupola furnace and related equipment to ensure minimal downtime.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 5 years in foundry operations, ideally with gray iron and cupola experience. Open to varying levels of supervisory experience.
• Technical Knowledge: Expertise in cupola melting, gray iron casting, and ISO 9001/14001 standards.
• Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills in a foundry or heavy manufacturing environment.

Work Environment:
This role operates in a foundry environment with exposure to high heat, noise, and physical demands.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
