- Follow appropriate workflows and procedures for the payroll department.
- Collect, audit and analyze payroll and timesheet data.
- Process payroll for 500 employees and 30 clients in accordance with local, state and federal regulations and company guidelines.
- Research and resolve all payroll discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner.
- Contact clients to obtain necessary information, build relationships and resolve issues.
- Train clients on all PEO policies, processes and timelines.
- Update and maintain federal and state W4 information and employee direct deposit information.
- Process severance, bonuses, employee benefits and various deductions.
- Track accrued paid time off, sick and vacation according to company policies.
- Process and review all garnishments, levies and child support orders including initial review of the notice, verification of the proper garnishment of wages and entry into payroll processing system.
- Develop and generate ad hoc payroll reports, as needed or requested.
- Participate in year-end payroll activities.
- Develop knowledge of features and functionality of the payroll processing system
- Ensure compliance with standard internal control procedures.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations, etc.
- Enhance department and organization by accepting ownership for re-engineering processes, accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value.
- Perform such other duties, appropriate to the role, as may be required from time to time.

- A minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-client, multi-state and multi-system production environment
- The candidate must be exceedingly well organized, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet multiple simultaneous deadlines, while maintaining a high level of accuracy, professionalism and confidentiality.
- Experience using enterprise payroll software
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications
- FPC or CPP a plus!
- Demonstrated data entry, 10-key by touch, customer service and problem resolution skills
- Familiarity with and understanding of PEO operations a plus!
- Position requires an individual with ability to navigate computer while on the phone.
- Frequent speaking, listening, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods working at a computer with adequate breaks
- Service center environment with moderate noise level due to representatives talking, computers, printers and floor activity
