Duties
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive project estimates.
- Develop detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs associated with construction projects.
- Consult with clients, vendors, and internal and external personnel to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Utilize estimating software such as Vu360 and Bluebeam to create accurate bids.
- Collaborate with project managers to assess project requirements and timelines.
- Conduct site visits to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
- Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
- Prepare and present detailed proposals and contract documents for review by stakeholders.
- Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and project changes.
- Visit project site and document any information necessary to improve on future estimates.
- Maintain knowledge of material, methods and tools in order to improve the quality of estimates.
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field. Minimum 2 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Vu360 and Bluebeam.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for cost control and pricing accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, contracts, and technical documents.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
