Talin Home Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing patient intake processes, ensuring that all necessary information is accurately collected and recorded. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to patient care and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and communication.
- Manage and schedule medical appointments, coordinating with healthcare providers to optimize workflow and patient care.
- Collect, verify, and enter patient information accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain and update electronic medical records using the Alora Plus EHR system.
- Process insurance verifications and submit pre-authorizations through payer platforms and Availity.
- Organize and manage patient documentation for efficient access and retrieval.
- Utilize 10-key typing skills for accurate and efficient data entry.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Provide general administrative support and help ensure the smooth operation of the office.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical scheduling, patient intake, or health information management preferred.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical billing processes.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, with Alora Plus experience considered a plus.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Must have experience working with insurance companies, including submitting pre-authorizations.
- Experience supporting a skilled home health agency is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding related to home health skilled nursing, as well as the VA CCC Plus and VA DD Waiver programs, is a valuable asset. While not required, it's a definite bonus.
