What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Director position at Talisman Summer Camp?
Talisman Summer Camp provides young people with learning differences exceptional opportunities to increase self-confidence, independence, motivation, and social competence in a safe and nurturing environment. We primarily work with campers with Autism and ADHD.
The Camp Director provides leadership and oversight of all aspects of the summer camp program, including staff, programming, logistics and parent communication. Recruit, hire, train and supervise all summer program staff, ensuring they are carrying out the program according to camp mission and policy. Plan, develop and direct camp programs that are safe, fun, appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities, and that support camper goals. Manage all day-to-day program logistics, working closely with admissions and operations to ensure a smooth, safe and beneficial experience.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience working with people with autism, solid supervisory experience and enthusiasm for the spirit of summer camp. The camp director must be a dynamic leader and team player with great judgment, strong analytical skills, creative thinking, exceptional customer service and a passion for excellence. The position is year-round, with 24-hour on-campus responsibilities in the summer. This position will report to me, the Executive Director. Pay is DOE and the range is 45,000-55,000.
