About The Job
The Clinical Coordinator works in concert with Nurse Manager/Department Leadership to develop departmental goals consistent with the MMC Mission Vision and Values, the principles and activities of True North, and organizational goals. The Clinical Coordinator works in concert with the Nurse Manager/Department Leadership to promote high quality patient care, perform work improvement projects, and administrative duties within assigned areas. Activities include assisting with development and implementation of onboarding, preceptorship, staff training/education, and annual performance review. The Clinical Coordinator may assume direct clinical care and provides leadership in the department.
Job Duties
Assessment: Performs head to toe physical assessment/reassessments for patient populations served. Assesses patients for psychological, social or spiritual needs including pain, cognition and discharge planning.
Planning: Utilizes interdisciplinary team resources to develop and revise an individualized plan of care as indicated by the patient's needs and medical treatments. Incorporates cultural/ ethnic/religious/ spiritual preferences, growth and developmental stage characteristics and evidenced based nursing principles into the plan whenever possible.
Intervention: Implements nursing interventions per plan of care in a safe, effective and timely manner including medication and pain management, patient education, and technical nursing skills. Actively participates in multidisciplinary discharge planning.
Evaluation: Evaluates the effectiveness of the plan of care including response to treatments, understanding of patient/family education and goal achievement. Revises the plan of care and communicates the same as needed.
Documentation: Documents patient assessments, plan of care, nursing actions, patient responses and communication of information to patients, co-workers, providers or family members in an effective and timely manner in the electronic medical record.

Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree and professional certification are preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a registered nurse in a hospital or ambulatory setting.
- Management/supervisory experience preferred.
- Meets requirements of Staff RN II and unit specific competence.
- Must be able to read and comprehend written materials of a complex level such as contracts, government regulations and other agency requirements written in English.
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing including the ability to make effective group presentations in English.
- Must be able to comprehend and make mathematical computations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and statistical applications.
- Understands and effectively uses Microsoft Office, payroll, and clinical documentation systems pertinent to role. Effectively uses internet resources to enhance role.
- Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Wisconsin.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): PCU, ED and Cardiac Rehab
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): ED
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) : ED
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP): FBP
