TAMKO Building Products LLC is seeking a Maintenance Planner at our manufacturing facility in Dallas, Texas.  The Maintenance Planner will work with all members of the maintenance and operations departments to plan maintenance work orders, promote a safe work environment, and ensure compliance with all TAMKO safety rules and regulations.  The Maintenance Planner is responsible for improving maintenance effectiveness by eliminating delays and obstacles through proper planning and preparation.

  • Promotes a safe work environment and safe work practices.
  • Improves maintenance effectiveness by eliminating delays and obstacles through proper planning of spare parts, materials, equipment and tool requirements, including standard, specialty and extended tool lists.
  • Plans work for quality and effective utilization of the maintenance budget.
  • Maintains information to permit meaningful analysis of results and work completed through key performance indicators:

     o Visits work site to evaluate equipment problems and plan routine and shut down maintenance work orders.

     o Identifies safety precautions, permits and safety requirements.

     o Determines specific location and scope of work.

     o Determines material requirements and parts locations.

     o Develops and Identifies (tool lists) special tools, ladders, and rigging.

     o Develops task lists (SOP’s).

     o Develops and maintains technical data base.

  • Provides existing SOP’s while continuously soliciting feedback from members to optimize and improve SOP’s and job plans.
  • Understands and utilizes technical databases.
  • Determines skill requirements such as mechanical, electrical, process and/or contractors, and time estimates.
  • Identifies craft coordination issues and supporting work orders, as required.
  • Provides technical documentation, as needed.
  • Maintains documentation, ensures compliance to alignment standards.
  • Develops and maintains installation and machine set up criteria.
  • Plans work for quality and effective utilization of the maintenance budget.
  • Any and all assignments as directed by management.

 

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or at least one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Proficient understanding of SAP, Microsoft Office, Excel and project software.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Computer Skills – Should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Word Processing software.
  • Mechanical Aptitudes – Should possess a sound technical knowledge of all equipment used in facilities to effectively identify issues.
  • Electrical Aptitudes – Should be knowledgeable in the understanding of NEC electrical codes to effectively identify issues.
  • Safety – Compliance with all TAMKO and departmental safety rules and regulations along with a proficient understanding of OSHA standards.

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee may work around moving mechanical parts, at elevated heights, where dusts and fumes could be present in the air, with or in proximity to chemicals, in hot environments, around electrical equipment, and in a loud environment.  The employee must have the ability to understand and mitigate these and other risks, including by following all prescribed safety rules, and must have the ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, if necessary.
