What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits Administrator position at Tanner Health?
The Benefits Administrator is a key member of the Benefits team. The position is responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, voluntary benefit plans, education benefits, retirement plans, etc.). This position is crucial to maintain a competitive position for the purposes of retention and recruitment of employees, to ensure regulatory compliance, and achieve the goals of the organization. Coordinates administration of enrollment, eligibility, claims and distributions. Manages data flows to and from various carriers and HRIS payroll system. This position provides excellent customer service and serves as a liaison between benefit providers and employees to resolve service issues, and advises employees and management on benefits issues. He or she approaches these responsibilities with the understanding that the benefits program and the Human Resources Department play a vital role in achieving the vision set forth for the organization.

Five years of related experience. Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.

Qualifications
- Must have 5 years of directly related experience as a Benefits Administrator of a health plan. CEBS, CBP, PHR, SHRM or related certification preferred.
- Strong analytical skills. Ability to understand, evaluate, and make recommendations for process improvements.
- Computer proficiency and aptitude with spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, and e-mail software. Preferred qualifications include experience with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and HRIS.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to communicate to employees at various levels in the organization.
- Excellent organizational skills, must be accurate and thorough.
- Must exhibit good professional ethics consistently.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and contracts.
