TAPA: Trinity Academy for the Performing Arts, an academically rigorous public charter school for the arts, seeks a Per Diem Substitute Teacher. The ideal candidate recognizes and celebrates the intelligence of each student and consistently holds students to high standards through a culturally responsive pedagogical framework.

TAPAs anti-oppression creative community is enriched by the cultural, religious, racial, ethnic, and linguistic diversity of our neurodiverse families, students, and employees. Nearly all members of the TAPA student body are people of color, predominantly Latinx, with many students speaking both English and Spanish in their homes. A significant portion of TAPAs student body identifies as members of the LGBTQ community. It is an organizational priority for TAPA to hire staff members who have cultural commonalities with our students and families.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and flexible individual to join our team as a Per Diem Substitute Teacher. This role requires the readiness to substitute teach across various subjects and grade levels (7-12), including specialized arts subjects such as theatre, film, music, and dance.

Compensation: $150-$200/day, based on experience and qualifications.

At TAPA, subjects are taught utilizing an arts-integrated curriculum aligned with the Common Core Standards, embedding the arts into the core of interdisciplinary learning. TAPA prepares students to meet or exceed Rhode Islands graduation requirements and perform at or above grade level on all state and local assessments. We address each students individual academic needs using assessment data and continuous feedback, while providing clear academic, social, and artistic expectations.

TAPA is a student-centered community that fosters leadership, intellect, self-confidence, and responsibility. Inclusion, equity, social justice, and diversity frameworks are central to every course.
