Position Title: Medical Assistant Coordinator
Department: Primary Care
Reports To: Director/ Program Operations Supervisor
Position Summary
Reports to the Program Operations Supervisor. Works under the direct supervision of the Licensed Medical Care Provider. Responsible for providing basic nursing care to the patients assigned to the Primary Care Clinic.
Salary Range
$25.75 - $29.50 per hour DOE

CATEGORIES OF DUTIES
Current enrollment in a medical assistant program approved by the State of California. Currently certified in CPR and Institutional Fire Life Safety. Phlebotomy certificate helpful but not required.
Experience
Three (3) months experience enrolled as a medical assistant in an accredited program.

CATEGORIES OF DUTIES
- Sort and distribute each provider’s labs; all incoming mail; all incoming faxes (delegate as much as possible)
- Review two paper and electronic charts daily for compliance and communicate findings to Care Teams via email
- Pull charts for MD supervision and communicate MD's findings to Care Teams (delegate to Care Teams)
- Process hospital / ED admissions for existing patients and log results; assign and track Care Team follow-up; log follow-up
- Process high utilizers who are existing patients and log results; assign and track Care Team follow-up; log follow-up
- Work with providers to triage walk-ins
- Manage patient flow in entire clinic
- Liaison with behavioral staff for emergency and routine referrals within TTC
- Maintain clinic and staff schedules in Outlook. Radekal and Avatar Scheduling Calendar
- Principal liaison with Clinic Director/Supervisor
- Liaison with housekeeping, maintenance, IT and HR
- Processes staff physicals, TB tests, and staff drug screens
- Reports any staff absences to Clinic Director/ Supervisor
- Coordinates group visits and patient education
- Makes staff reassignments when staff are absent
- Processes Etime with Clinic Director/ Supervisor
- Daily clinic troubleshooting
- Facilitate telehealth visits
- Check Crash Cart daily and send notifications of expired or used items
- Serve as the coordinator for any fire I earthquake/ etc. drills.
- Serve a Vaccine Coordinator for the clinic
- Compile information needed to respond to grievances or to take corrective action
- The Lead MA is cross-trained in Front and Back Office responsibilities
- Scanning of materials into Avatar/Radekal
- Process hospital / ED admissions for patients not yet seen in primary care and log results
- Process high utilizers who have not yet been seen in primary care and log results
