What are the responsibilities and job description for the Enrolled Agent - Offer in Compromise position at Tax Relief Advocates?
Are you an experienced Enrolled Agent looking to take the next step in your career? We’re seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Enrolled Agent to join our team. In this role, you'll not only help clients navigate tax resolution but also serve as a key advocate for those seeking an Offer in Compromise. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of an Offer in Compromise—whether that results in an acceptance, rejection, denial, or appeal. Keeping client advocacy at the forefront, you will exhaust all available avenues to finalize the client’s OIC service.
Your expertise will be crucial in reviewing clients' financial situations, working with the IRS, and developing tailored resolution strategies to resolve tax issues and ensure the best possible outcome.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review clients' completed financial analyses, tax returns, AT/ROA/WI transcripts, and other data obtained from the IRS to ensure compliance and identify resolution opportunities.
- Prepare and present resolution options to clients based on the reviewed information, offering tailored solutions for their specific tax situation.
- Conduct compliance calls to obtain missing information or follow up on IRS processing.
- Call the Automated Collection System (ACS) to set up the chosen resolution options, which may include:
- Installment Agreement
- Partial Pay Installment Agreement
- Currently Non-Collectible status
- Step-Installment Agreement
- Penalty Abatement requests
- Represent clients in communication with the IRS, including handling IRS notices, appeals, and resolving disputes.
- Assist clients with audit representation and ensure proper documentation and communication with IRS auditors.
- Guide clients through various IRS collection processes, such as levies, liens, and garnishments, and work to negotiate favorable outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date on IRS regulations, tax laws, and resolution options to provide accurate and effective solutions to clients.
- Provide clients with ongoing support and advice to help them maintain compliance and avoid future issues with the IRS.
Must-Haves:
- Active Enrolled Agent License or CPA (Required)
- Active PTIN (Required)
- Established E-services account on IRS.gov (Required)
- 1 years' experience in setting up resolutions with ACS
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws, IRS processes, and tax resolution strategies
