We are currently looking for a skilled Fleet and Equipment Manager to join our team and oversee the maintenance, repair, and overall management of our fleet and equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our vehicles and machinery are operating at peak efficiency, managing inventory, coordinating maintenance schedules, and implementing cost-effective solutions to optimize operations. Job Summary:
The Fleet and Equipment Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle management of the company’s entire fleet, equipment, and tools across all departments and locations. This enterprise-level role involves strategic oversight of fleet procurement, maintenance, repairs, replacements, and inventory management. The Fleet and Equipment Manager assures us that all assets are utilized efficiently, cost-effectively, and are compliant with safety and regulatory standards. This position plays a critical role in driving operational efficiency, managing budgets, and optimizing fleet and equipment performance to support the company's overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full lifecycle of fleet, equipment, and tools, including acquisition, inventory, maintenance, and disposal, aligning with organizational needs and goals.
- Establish and manage a check-in/check-out process for equipment and tools to ensure effective tracking and accountability.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and programs to optimize asset performance and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and procurement for entire company’s fleet, equipment, and tools, ensuring cost efficiency and optimal asset utilization.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of equipment and tools to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with department heads to understand equipment needs and optimize utilization.
- Develop strategy on maintaining accurate records of all fleet, equipment and tools, including usage, maintenance history, and repair costs.
- Analyze equipment performance data to inform purchasing decisions and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Negotiate contracts with service providers, implement asset tracking technologies, and monitor fuel management to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure proper insurance, manage claims, and prepare regular reports for senior leadership on fleet and equipment performance, costs, and strategy.
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and regulations to ensure optimal fleet and equipment management.
- 5 years of experience in asset management, equipment maintenance, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in fleet and equipment management, with a proven track record of overseeing large, diverse fleets and equipment across multiple locations.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience managing large budgets and reducing operational costs while maximizing fleet and equipment performance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in asset management software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in equipment management.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, environmental standards, and compliance requirements related to fleet and equipment management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- You must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to be covered under the company’s vehicle insurance policy.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to physically perform light work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
- Visual requirements include vision less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
- Must be able to perform the following physical activities: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions:
This position is exposed to dust, noise and temperature extremes. There are possible equipment movement hazards, electrical shock and other exposures. This is a fast-paced work environment.
