Top Required Skills (Must Haves):
- FPGA Development & Optimization (8-10 years): Extensive experience developing and optimizing FPGA firmware for quantum control systems, focusing on high-speed DAC/ADC integration for qubit manipulation and measurement using Xilinx RFSoC platforms (e.g., ZCU216, ZCU208).
- Xilinx Vivado, Vitis, and RFSoC Development (8-10 years): Proficiency in FPGA-based control logic development, including JESD204B/C integration for high-speed RF signal processing, debugging, and optimization.
- Python & C/C for Quantum Experiment Control (8-10 years): Strong experience writing automation scripts, interfacing FPGA designs with quantum hardware, and implementing real-time feedback control for quantum computing applications.
Opportunity Overview:
As an FPGA Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing high-speed signal processing pipelines for real-time qubit control. You will work closely with quantum physicists, experimentalists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop cutting-edge quantum computing solutions. This position provides an exciting opportunity to push the boundaries of quantum control systems while working with state-of-the-art hardware and next-generation computing architectures.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop & optimize FPGA firmware for quantum computing applications using Xilinx RFSoC platforms (ZCU216, ZCU208, ZCU111).
- Implement real-time qubit control solutions, including pulse shaping, Arbitrary Waveform Generation (AWG), and real-time feedback algorithms for quantum gates and qubit readout.
- Integrate high-speed RF signal processing into quantum computing experiments, ensuring seamless data acquisition and low-latency processing.
- Work with high-speed DACs/ADCs & JESD204B/C interfaces to support advanced signal processing.
- Perform FPGA timing analysis, optimization, and debugging to ensure high-performance operation in quantum hardware.
- Develop software solutions in Python & C/C to interface FPGA designs with quantum hardware and enable automated experiment control.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quantum physicists, embedded engineers, and hardware developers, to enhance FPGA-based quantum error correction techniques.
- Conduct hardware bring-up, validation, and lab testing, using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and quantum measurement setups.
Qualifications/Experience:
- 8-10 years of FPGA development experience, with a focus on Xilinx RFSoC platforms (ZCU216, ZCU208, ZCU111).
- Expertise in VHDL/Verilog & HLS (C/C ) for FPGA programming and optimization.
- Proficiency in Xilinx Vivado, Vitis, and RFSoC-specific development tools.
- Hands-on experience with high-speed DACs/ADCs, JESD204B/C, and RF signal generation.
- Strong understanding of quantum computing control protocols, pulse shaping, and qubit measurement techniques.
- Experience with Python, C/C , and embedded Linux for FPGA integration and experiment automation.
- Familiarity with high-speed serial interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, etc.) for control and data acquisition.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
