This role carries dual responsibility for administration of Tech Heads’ internal environment and support of client systems on Tech Heads' managed service programs. This role is essential for continuity of IT operations within Tech Heads to prevent problems and to improve system performance. Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
- Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
- Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
- Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance.
- Maintain internal infrastructure requirements, including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates, support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments.
- Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience as an IT Systems Administrator or similar role, preferably within an MSP environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server (2012/2016/2019), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.
- Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting networking protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP) and devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Experience with cloud services, particularly Microsoft 365, Azure.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and backup solutions (Veeam, Dropsuite, ExaGrid).
- Solid understanding of IT security principles and experience with endpoint protection, email security, and firewalls.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex technical issues independently.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for non-technical clients.
- Experience with IT ticketing systems and remote monitoring tools (e.g., ConnectWise, Autotask, SolarWinds, Datto).
- Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities, ensuring timely and effective service delivery.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network , CompTIA Security , Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or equivalent.
- Experience with network monitoring tools, or collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams.
- Knowledge of cloud storage solutions and migration strategies.
