Job Summary
Tech Remove is a leading provider of refurbished and recycled computers and peripherals. We have five recycled over five million pounds of electronic waste and repurposed vintage all-in-ones, desktops, workstations, servers, and laptops. The ideal candidate will test various computers and their operating systems from the 80s, 90s, and today. The ideal candidate must be able to boot to POST, analyze and resolve failure to POST issues, conduct data entry, identify value to the customer, and repeat this cycle at least 40 times per shift. This position offers the opportunity to work in our recycling lab.
Responsibilities
- Boot at least 40 vintage and modern computer systems to POST daily.
- Troubleshoot failure-to-boot issues on various computer systems and remedy.
- Ability to remove hard drives and peripherals and install replacements;
- Work In Progress (WIP). Identify and document issues that cannot be immediately resolved and, place items into work-in-progress piles as appropriate, complete those tasks as resources become available;
- Label and take proper pictures of hardware;
- Perform equipment repairs following technical guidance of Tech Remove SOPs as required;
- Use 5S and Kanban to communicate and move items around the warehouse for scrap, resale, or recycling;
Requirements
- Proficiency in modern 64-bit Mac/PC Operating Systems;
- Proficiency with vintage Windows and Mac Operating Systems like Mac 7.6 to 9.2, Windows 3.1, 95, 98, ME, Vista, 2000, NT, and XP;
- Some experience in fresh installations and repair;
- Ability to analyze technical issues and provide practical solutions;
- Able to follow a workflow from a computer system; Strong background in technical support and customer service;
- Know how and what Khanban is at the time of the interview;
- 2-Second Lean by Paul Akers is a considerable plus;
- A Certification is a huge plus;

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
