What are the responsibilities and job description for the Piping Designer position at Technical Staffing Resources?
TSR is seeking a Piping Designer to work with one of the largest EPC firms in the country. This is a long-term contract position in Fayetteville, NC with the possibility of being hired direct.
Job Description
- Design in Microstation and E3D. Will also use a full complement of Microsoft Office products.
- Work on 2D CAD drawings (piping diagrams, details, supports) as well as piping routing and design
- Assemble design packages (for piping/mechanical portion) including scope of work, transmittal, drawings, vendor information, and E3D generated bill of materials (pipe, pipe components, fasteners, gaskets, and pipe supports)
- The individual will work as part of a site design team to support ongoing minor projects (<$500K)
- Annual site shutdown support during the month of October each year.
- This position will require direct contact with client technical, maintenance, and operations personnel, as well as outside contractors, vendors, and construction personnel.
Requirements
- Piping design experience is required; Previous hands on piping experience is preferred (sketcher, fitter or welder, etc.)
- Microstation and PDMS/E3D experience required
- Good communication skills and critical thinking are required
- Standard PPE – Hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots. Will also need to be able to pass a pulmonary function test, which is the requirement to wear an acid suit – pants, jacket, sand blast hood with supplied air. This is required to access some areas of the facility.
