We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nightside Executive Producer to lead our editorial team and drive the strategic vision for our content. This role requires a strong leader with a passion for journalism, a deep understanding of the news landscape, and the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of journalists.

This position will oversee producers creating 2.5 hours of nightly news, including the 9 and 10 p.m. newscasts on KONG and the 11 p.m. show on KING.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily news operations, ensuring the highest standards of journalistic integrity and accuracy.
• Develop and implement innovative story ideas and formats that resonate with our audience.
• Collaborate closely with senior producers, line producers, anchors, reporters, and technical production crew to create engaging, timely, and relevant content.
• Work closely with the management team to establish and uphold the highest standards of news quality, ensuring cohesive editorial vision and consistency across all platforms.
• Manage and mentor a team of producers, fostering a culture of creativity and accountability.
• Work with the digital team to enhance the reach and impact of our news stories with a digital-first mindset.
• Analyze ratings, audience feedback, and engagement metrics to align with station's strategic plan.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years industry experience as a news producer and as a newsroom leader. Prior executive producer experience is preferred.
• Solid journalistic judgement and a news philosophy that emphasizes accurate, fair, and diverse local content.
• Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news, and changing events with the ability to work under constant deadlines.
• Ability to work a flexible shift, including holidays, mornings, evenings, and weekends as news warrants.
• Knowledge of AP ENPS, Edius, and content management systems a plus.

Pay Range

$92,000—$102,000 USD
