The Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for managing personnel; coordinating product flow, schedules, and Assemblers; planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures; identifying and recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions; procurement and shipping; quality control, and other duties as needed. The Assistant Operations Manager also operates equipment as needed.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise production floor personnel.
- Work closely with all departments to establish product flow according to scheduling requirements.
- Ensure procedures are in place and being followed for quality of product and compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Perform all aspects of assembly including, but not limited to hand soldering, through hole and surface mount assembly, hardware assembly, masking, wave soldering, reflow soldering, desoldering, cable harnesses and wire assembly as needed.
- Perform testing, programming, and repair per quality work instructions as needed.
- Communicate with customers and vendors when necessary.
- Improve manufacturing efficiencies.
- Maintain clean environment.
- Support Operations Manager and Process Engineer.
- Interface and provide support when needed to Quality, Sales, Engineering, and Operations.
- Administrative duties including but not limited to: Order entry/daily balancing, kitting jobs utilizing our inventory room, shipping, filing, customer service, preparing and updating work travelers.
- Tracking and reporting contract requirements, progress, and change notifications.
- Procurement and purchasing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing Operations and Assembly.
- Visual acuity in working with microscopes.
- Fine finger dexterity to include grasping or pinching, and a steady hand.
- Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed to support production schedule.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, monitor work to ensure quality and apply feedback to improve performance
- Strong computer, reading, verbal, and writing skills.
- Ability to identify and safely handle components
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies and systems a plus.
- Ability to read prints and follow assembly instructions.
- Ability to focus on safety and quality.
- High motivation and dedication to exceed customer expectations.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to optimize the performance of team members.
- Experience in problem analysis and resolution.
- Quality control.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 procedures.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
