Job Description :
- The Manager, Payroll and Total Reards is responsible for the oversight of the Company’s total rewards program and payroll processing for 500 employees nationally on a semi-monthly payroll.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
PayrollProvide oversight to ensure payroll and related processes are accurate, efficient, timely, and in compliance with internal controls, tax regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local legislative compliance requirementsManage all payroll tax inquiries and filings and garnishmentsHandle escalated payroll inquiries / mattersPerform audits and troubleshoot issues to maintain payroll accuracyGenerate reports and assist with reconciliationsOversee compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirementsCollaborate on system updates related to payroll, and provide training to team members on procedures and complianceAct as liaison with third party providers for payroll processing such as 401(k)General
Provide back-up support to the payroll and total rewards teamAssist with audit requests by providing records and documentation to HR team members and auditors, as neededPerform other duties as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Supervise assigned employees by organizing and monitoring work progressMaintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employeesManage performance of employees through development, coaching, and counselingQUALIFICATIONS :
A minimum of 8 - 12 years of experience administering benefits and payroll operations / compliance, including managing payroll tax and benefits compliance for a multi-state / national employer with at least 150 employees requiredA minimum of 2 years of people management experience requiredExperience with Namely HRIS strongly preferredExperience managing compensation programs strongly preferredBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field preferredCertified Payroll Professional (CPP), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Employee Benefits Professional (CEBS) designation preferredKnowledge of applicable local, state, and federal lawsKnowledge and ability to use MS Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint to perform essential functions of the jobStrong and proficient Excel skills (e.g., vlookups, pivot tables, macros) requiredOutstanding organizational, problem-solving, and time management skillsBasic accounting and math skillsStrong analytical skills, highly organized and detail-oriented; high degree of accuracyAbility to learn new systems quicklyEffective oral and written communication skillsProcess driven, self-motivated, and can work independentlyWorks well in a team environment and can be effective in a fast-paced work environmentAbility to build rapport with individuals at all levels in the organizationAbility to maintain confidential informationPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
