What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Representative position at Telarus?
The Telarus Business Development Representative is responsible for recruiting new partners through contract signature. The Business Development representative identifies partnering opportunities by focusing on new prospects (inbound, outbound and Supplier Referrals), qualifying leads and managing the contract process. The representative will have a keen understanding of Telarus offerings and the ability to effectively communicate our value to the partner.
- Prospect, qualify, build, and manage a sales pipeline of potential partners for the sales team through outbound calling, email communications, social media, purchased target lists, Supplier Referrals, ZoomInfo, etc.
- Manage inbound prospective partner calls, web leads and chats driven by marketing
- Execute effective contact strategies for all lead sources
- Conduct product and company demos and presentations to prospective partners
- Qualify and drive partner leads through the sales process
- Negotiate contracts
- Achieve high calling and emailing activity levels daily, weekly, and monthly to support signed partner goals
- Meet in-person networking event attendance goals
- Meet partner contracting goals monthly (Total 40)
- Use BDR enabling tools such as Salesforce.com, Revenue Grid, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn, etc.
- Consistently log and record each and every outreach made in Salesforce
- Gather and populate key data learned in Salesforce Partner Profile
- Clearly and effectively articulate Why TSDs/Why Telarus and differentiate Telarus from the competition
- Hand off signed partners for onboarding
- Understand partner needs and effectively translate into compelling value proposition(s)
- Outbound calling and emails to drive event attendance where needed (estimated 10% of time)
- Additional duties as assigned

About You
You have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and an ability to develop professional rapport with team members and partners at all levels (individual contributor through C-level). You excel in team environments but can also work autonomously. You are a creative problem solver with successful experience developing action plans and driving issues to resolution. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where your dedication and strong time management skills can be fully utilized and appreciated.
- Proven successful inside sales experience (2 years minimum). Service-based technical sales experience within the channel is preferred.
- Strong ability to develop a professional rapport, overcome objections and persuade while maintaining a dynamic and professional demeanor
- Track record of exceeding quota
- Strong phone and video presence and experience dialing dozens of calls per day
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated proficient experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Strong hunter mentality
- Self-starter motivated by the opportunity to advance professionally, and personally
- Able to work with autonomy and as part of a team
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
