Position Summary
An HVAC apprentice is an entry-level position that works under the guidance of a more experienced HVAC installer. An apprentice will assist in completing various tasks while working with a qualified HVAC installer. An apprentice workday consists of learning the skills and knowledge to install HVAC systems and equipment. An apprentice will gain experience in the commercial, and related industries to install, operate, and repair heating, air flow, and air conditioning systems. An Apprentice will be trained in all elements of HVAC installation.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Aid with HVAC system installation.
- Installing and servicing heating and air conditioning systems units for commercial construction projects.
- Use a range of hand tools and equipment for HVAC installation.
- Perform cutting, assembly, and fabrication of ductwork, fittings, and fixtures.
- Use tools and equipment required for HVAC work.
- Ensure that all tools, materials, and gear are in good operating order.
- Ensure that all HVAC systems adhere to industry standards and regulations.
- Professional handling of customer HVAC requests
- Review building plans and inspect them to assess material and equipment needs.
- Collaboration with contractors, construction workers, and electricians to meet HVAC requirements.
Additional Requirements:
· Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
· Ability to work in tight/open/high/low spaces
· Ability to work comfortably from a ladder
· Ability to manipulate small objects with fingers
· Ability to work in variable weather conditions
- Ability to pass full background screening and drug screening
- Ability to pass MVR check
- Ability to travel, as needed, for projects or training
