FROM: $18.00 per hour SUMMARY: The Joseph Smith Memorial Building is seeking an enthusiastic, hard working individual to assist with banquet events and play a critical role in the success of the guest’s experience. We are looking for someone who has a passion for serving others and exceling in a fast-paced environment. Banquet Servers are responsible for all table service duties as well as prep work and closeout tasks. We focus on weddings, corporate meetings, and other large-scale events. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with table and dining room prep before the event begins. Serve plated dinners to guests and respond to requests for beverages, appetizers, and other needs. Acts with a sense of urgency to complete tasks and provide exceptional service for guests Communicate with Banquet Captain and other servers and event organizers. Closing tasks and side-work duties. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES Pleasing manner and attitude with excellent communication skills. Observe 100 % smoke-free policy while on the job. Able to work under pressure. Ability to meet physical demands of the position including standing for long periods and lifting. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Prior experience in the food service industry is preferred. Current Food Handler’s Permit required or ability to get one before first day of employment. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Part-time position, weekends and holidays needed.
