Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients as they arrive at the dental office
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using medical scheduling software
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintain patient records and update necessary information in the electronic health record system (Epic)
- Verify insurance coverage and assist patients with insurance-related questions
- Collect and process payments from patients for services rendered
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a dental receptionist or in a similar administrative role
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is preferred
- Proficient in using office equipment such as computers, printers, and phone systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff members
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining patient records and scheduling appointments
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
