BASE MAINTENANCE GROUP SUPERVISOR I - MECHANIC
Purpose:
Responsible for maintaining several production lines, focusing on mechanical and hydraulic systems. Tasks include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimizing equipment performance to minimize downtime. The role involves leading a team of 3 technicians to ensure efficient, reliable, and safe operations of production systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Equipment Availability to Meet Production Demand
- Oversee the operational readiness and reliability of machinery and equipment across the facility, ensuring that production targets are consistently met. Proactively identify and address potential equipment issues to prevent downtime, thereby supporting continuous production flow in a high-demand environment.
- Foster a Safety-Centric Work Environment
- Promote a safety-first culture by implementing and maintaining strict safety protocols. Focus on incident and accident prevention by conducting regular safety audits, providing safety training, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. Actively work to reduce hazards in mechanical and hydraulic systems, protecting both personnel and equipment.
- Ensure Compliance with Daily and Weekly Maintenance Activities
- Supervise and guide the maintenance team in performing routine and scheduled maintenance tasks according to established procedures. Ensure the team completes daily and weekly preventive maintenance activities on time, reducing equipment failures and supporting smooth operations.
- Monitor and Maintain CNC Machinery Effectiveness
- Focus on the mechanical upkeep and optimization of CNC machinery, ensuring precision and operational efficiency. Regularly assess machine performance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and implement corrective actions to enhance productivity and minimize errors on critical production lines.
- Plan and Execute Equipment Extraordinary Repairs (REX)
- Responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of extraordinary repairs (REX) on key equipment, both on a monthly and yearly basis. This involves prioritizing major repairs, managing resources effectively, and ensuring that repairs are completed with minimal disruption to production schedules. Work with external service providers and vendors to manage the repair process efficiently.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- CNC Lathe Machinery (Rotary Equipment)
- In-depth knowledge of CNC lathe machinery and rotary equipment used in the pipe and manufacturing industry. Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize these machines to ensure high productivity and precision in pipe manufacturing.
- Industrial Hydraulic Equipment
- Advanced understanding of industrial hydraulic systems and equipment. Skilled in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing hydraulic machinery to support production operations and reduce downtime.
- Software Knowledge (SAP) and PC Usage
