Senior Economist (Macroeconomic Strategy)

Corporate Development Group (CDG) as the platform for the company's new business incubation and new business exploration, CDG is responsible for promoting development and innovation for important areas such as financial technology and advertising, as well as marketing services, including payment and financial applications. As a professional support platform, CDG also supports the company and various business groups in strategic planning, investments and mergers, investor relations and corporate global communications, marketing and public relations, and more.

What The Role Entails

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in economic research, consulting, investment banking, asset management, or related fields.
• A Ph.D degree in economics or finance.
• Extensive knowledge of global economy and international financial markets, with at least 5 years of experience covering US and/or China markets.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with knowledge and experiences in statistical and econometrical modelling.
• Demonstrated curiosity, exceptional learning agility, and self-driven commitment to excellence.
• Good communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and strong command of written and spoken Chinese and English.
  
  

Who We Look For

Responsibilities:

• Closely monitor, analyze and interpret recent developments and trends in global economy and financial markets, with a special focus on the US, and produce daily economic reports and forecasts.
• Provide insights and actionable ideas for senior management and internal business partners.
• Conduct regular research on US and China economy and financial markets in order to identify critical issues such as potential risks or business opportunities.
• Conduct thematic research on particular topics on US and China economy, financial markets, US-China economic relations, geopolitical issues, or industry trends.
• Act as a Project Manager (PM) to collaborate cross-functionally, driving the execution of strategic initiatives or key projects.

The base pay range for this position in the state(s) above is $115,200.0 to $194,400.0 per year. Actual pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as other medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the specific position offered.
