Event Planning Intern
Location: Tender Touch Therapy/Medical Support Services Kenosha and Mount Pleasant clinic
Terms: Paid Summer internship starting in May 2025 and ending August 20, 2025
Status: Part-time/full-time depending on availability of candidate. Monday-Friday, some weekends included.
Requirements: Communication, Event Planning, Marketing, pre-PT/pre-OT, pre-ST programs or Sport Management majors preferred
Travel: Must be willing to travel to different sites for promotions and events.
Mandatory attendance: For the weekend of the Tri My Best Triathlon Aug 8 - Aug 12th 2025
About us: Tender Touch Therapy provides high quality pediatric physical, occupational, and speech language therapy services. As a comprehensive team, we implement creative and effective treatment strategies in order to maximize functional independence and achieve patient-specific goals. We will advocate on behalf of each child and their family to enhance well-being and improve lifelong wellness. We have three clinic locations in Kenosha, Mount Pleasant, and Oak Creek.
Your role: As an Event Planning intern, you will work alongside the marketing department and Managers over the Tri My Best to coordinate events, communicate information to the public, and get sponsors and donors for our annual Tri My Best Triathlon, held at the Kenosha YMCA in August. This role entails assistance with events leading up to the Tri, fundraisers, training camps, promotions, promote the events on multiple media platforms, comfortable with interacting with athletes with all abilities and community liaison.
Employees will be interacting with children and families with special needs and must be comfortable with all age groups. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and be able to follow generalized outlines left from past interns.
The Tri My Best Triathlon is a swim, bike, run event for children and young adults with developmental disabilities, ages five and up. This event promotes physical activity and participation for individuals of all ability levels. Typically we hold 6-8 events leading up to the triathlon to market and promote it. These events may include kid’s training camps, fundraisers, and other promotional events in the area.
