What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscaping position at Tennessee Tech University?
Job Purpose
Responsible for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding the campus. Works in extreme temperatures to keep the campus clean, safe and attractive.

Essential Functions
Cuts grass and trims with various mowers and power tools. Utilizes knowledge of horticulture techniques to assist in maintaining trees, plants, flowerbeds, shrubbery and other landscaping elements.
Maintains streets and parking lots by patch paving, painting and weed control. Picks up and transports trash and provides leaf collection.
Utilizes tractors, front-end loaders, dump trucks and other commercial equipment to move dirt, sand, gravel and mulch for campus landscaping needs.
Uses hand tools such as shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, watering hose, etc. to maintain grounds. Provides snow removal services to the entire campus.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Six months of experience with landscape maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years landscape construction experience including operation of landscape equipment. Previous agronomic experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years landscape construction experience including operation of landscape equipment. Previous agronomic experience.
