TERRABELLA, Inc. is a DESIGN | BUILD firm providing customers environmentally conscious outdoor living and play spaces from design through construction and maintenance. We have been in business in Spokane for 20 years with a continually growing customer list including private, corporate and municipal clients.
OPEN POSITION - LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN
Landscape construction covers a large scope of work including: heavy equipment operation, removing/installing sod, laying pavers/patio stone, building outdoor pergola/shelter/outdoor living spaces, large rock placement, concrete work, building play structures, installing irrigation/sprinkler systems, painting, staining, installing lighting, water features, planter boxes, planting trees/plants, etc. It is work that requires attention to detail and following directions/plans as detailed in contracts.
Additionally, our company is fast becoming known for our high quality custom design/build playscapes. The ideal candidate will not only have experience in traditional landscape construction but also be versed in additional construction techniques required to achieve results as detailed in the pictures.
The following job description shall be considered a baseline schedule of expectations, including but not limited to:
1. Skill Set Required
-Hardscape Construction including pavers, flagstone, brick, concrete and composites
-Irrigation - small scale, large scale, spray, drip, multi-strand controllers and two-wire controllers including network ready
- Plant and Tree handling and installation
- Basic soil knowledge
- Rock and Boulder work
- Outdoor woodworking
- Basic Concrete knowledge
- Tool and equipment operation
- Basic equipment maintenance
- Ability to manage subordinate employees, delegate tasks and achieve goals
2. Respond to and meet with new and returning clients to:
- Determine scope of work
- Establish Timeline for design and/or construction
- Establish Budgetary constraints
3. Help identify new project opportunities
4. Assist with or prepare project bids
5. General project management – may include multiple projects at any one time
6. Assist office manager with paperwork/project tracking
7. Assist with company culture development
ABSOLUTE PERSONAL MUSTS FOR ANY CANDIDATE:
- Must be over 21 (For insurance purposes, required for operation of power equipment)
- Clean driving record and current driver’s license
- Prompt and punctual attendance every day – arriving early is arriving on time
- Leave bad habits at home. This is a professional company
- We greatly appreciate a good sense of humor. However, harassment, coarse joking and use of foul language will not be tolerated in the office or on the job site
- Have reliable transportation to shop and/or work site
This will be an hourly OR salaried position depending on experience and ability, with potential for bonuses stemming from cost savings, and net profits. Paid Time Off will be available after a trial period. Employee will be required to work a minimum of 40 hours a week.
Additionally, as this is a full time position, any hire would agree to an exclusivity commitment, a confidentiality agreement, and a non-compete clause.
