Supervise the Organization R&D laboratory materials and equipment inventory and maintenance. Initiate and assist in writing technical documents and assist in testing of products under the direction of engineering and scientific staff. - Oversee general lab organization, lab storage space, badge access, lab layout, and cleanliness, interfacing with Facilities and/or Office Services.
- Interact with Vendors to obtain quotes and pricing and availability of supplies and equipment for the lab and submit purchase orders for these items.
- Maintain inventory of supplies for general use in the lab, including syringes, airline fittings and tubing, luer fittings, general use chemicals, etc.
- Maintain equipment logs, databases, maintenance scheduling, and asset tracking for R&D equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on laboratory equipment or work with Equipment Maintenance group and/or vendors for repairs when necessary.
- Write or assist in writing technical documents such as protocols, reports, and procedures.
- Assist in product testing under direction of engineering and scientific staff.
- Interface with Quality Assurance to assure calibration of equipment.
- Comply with applicable Laws and Regulations, adhere to Quality Management System processes and requirements as well as demonstrate Ethics and Integrity in all matters and at all levels throughout the organization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience OR high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to work with moderate supervision.
- Basic machining skills.
- Electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good comprehension of technical documents and concepts.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Good basic math skills.
- Minimum one (1) year of supervisory/management experience or responsibility.
- Excellent organization and practical neatness skills.
- Ability to manage time and function well with simultaneous task assignments.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work well within a team environment and independently in a proactive manner as the situation requires.
- A desire to learn and adapt to new concepts.
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices.
- Electrical skills (ability to read voltage, current, and resistance).
- Ability to run mill and lathes in the machine shop.
