ESL Instructor - Meadowlands Campus, Evenings

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Continuing Education Department at Bergen Community College invites applications for an evening part-time instructor position for our Department of Labor grant. A qualified ESL instructor will provide English language lessons to students with low level literacy skills in the English language.

Position Summary

• Conduct activities and lessons based on ESL teaching methodologies
• Plan lessons and activities, adopt a creative approach, and encourage and motivate students to learn
• Maintain daily attendance
• Monitor students' performance to make suggestions for improvement and ensure they satisfy course standards
• Assist with testing in order to evaluate students' progress and achievement
• Motivate students to participate in all aspects of the educational process actively
• Assist with course/program evaluation

• Lyndhurst Campus
  
  

Available Time Slots

• Three weekday evenings 6-9 PM Mon/Wed/Thurs.

Education

SPECIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Masters Degree preferred
  
  

Experience

• Excellent command of the English language
• Ability to teach students of all ages and from different backgrounds
