Your tasks

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts in the US and Canada. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the food manufacturing market or food safety and demonstrate exceptional skills in territory management. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive growth through effective sales techniques and foster relationships with clients across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets.

Identify new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and leveraging existing relationships.

Develops product and application knowledge to effectively perform product demonstrations and technical presentations.

Completes Department Operational requirements to report on activities necessary to achieve strategic targets

Determines Customers’ needs, desires, and product pricing

Maintains relations with customers by customer visits, attending conventions, annual meetings, trade associations, and seminars.

Your profile

Education & Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (Scientific or Technical background is a plus but not required)

Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably in scientific equipment, diagnostics, food safety, or microbiological testing solutions

5 years of experience in sales and business development, ideally in the food, pharma, or life sciences sector

Experience in managing long sales cycles, particularly in regulated industries

Ability to understand customer pain points and offer tailored solutions

Key Sales & Business Skills:
Strong relationship management – Ability to build long-term partnerships with customers and key stakeholders

Excellent negotiation & persuasion skills – Capable of closing deals and increasing revenue

Strategic sales planning – Developing and executing sales strategies to expand market share

Account management & customer retention – Maintaining strong connections with existing clients while identifying upselling opportunities

Understanding of regulatory-driven markets – Familiarity with ISO 16140, HACCP, FSMA, and GMP regulations is a plus

Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, especially Application Engineers and Product Management

Soft Skills & Competencies:
Excellent communication & presentation skills, comfortable engaging with decision-makers at all levels

Problem-solving mindset, able to navigate customer concerns and objections effectively

Self-motivated & goal-driven, with a results-oriented approach to achieving sales targets

Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple accounts and opportunities

Language & Additional Skills:
Fluent in English, German is a plus

Willingness to travel (regionally and internationally) to meet customers, attend trade shows, and conduct sales meetings (50%)

Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and digital sales tools
