The Business Administrator III completes administrative and fiscal functions within the Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) for a range of complex and non-routine business activities including emergency response cost tracking and estimates, inter-agency billing and processing of FEMA and state reimbursement packages.

Duties & Responsibilities:
The Business Administrator III has a variety of duties and responsibilities, which include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide administrative and fiscal functions related to all-hazard emergency response operations, including emergency response cost-tracking and inter-agency billing. Maintaining fiscal, personnel and program records. Preparing inter-agency billing documents related to emergency response, ensuring accuracy, completeness, eligibility and adherence to federal, state and agency policies, procedures and requirements.
- Responsible for preparation and reporting of agency and FD costs reports for fire and all-hazard response to the state. Serve a primary POC for Incident Finance, cost and billing for internal and external personnel and develop and maintain proficiency with required software including Workday, iSuite, FAMIS and Microsoft Office.
- Serves as the coordination point and subject matter expert for TAMFS Incident Business processes and procedures, coordinating with regional and national groups and committees on incident business operations.
- Coordinates the development and training of TAMFS Finance Section personnel. Serves on TAMFS Incident Management Team and supports wildfire and emergency response mobilizations. Position will require moderate overnight travel and operation of agency vehicles.
- Completes all tasks in accordance with relevant laws, rules and guidelines.

This position is guaranteed a minimum of 40-hour work week and full benefits after on the first of the month after 60 days.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree with a preferred emphasis in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field OR a high school degree with ten (10) years experience with a wildland fire agency completing incident finance duties.
- A minimum of ten (10) years business/finance experience working full-time is required. Experience working for or with a wildland fire agency is preferred.
- Experience facilitating communications and developing and maintaining relationships with local government cooperators, various stakeholders and the general public is required.
- A valid Texas driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required for this position.
- An ideal candidate has strong written and oral communication skills and can work independently and be self-directed. This position requires the ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities in addition to working closely with others at times.
Additional Information:
- Travel is required for emergency response, training and program delivery. Travel away from the home unit, sometimes exceeding 14 days, may be necessary. There is also a possibility of working holidays while on emergency response.
- Within 90 days of hire, an employee must establish a primary residence within 30 minutes travel time of the office location.
- This position is not eligible for reimbursement of moving expenses.
