Job description
Seeking a part-time or full-time Receptionist/Office Assistant. Needing a self motivated person to look beyond bare minimum requirements and strive for more. Looking for someone who loves to talk to clients/customers and would be willing to do some traveling. You must be able to multi-task and must be highly organized. Hours are 8:30 to 5:00 Monday through Friday. We offer competitive starting pay and many opportunities for our team members.
Perform clerical work for the Marketing resales and Code Compliance Department. Assist in filing and processing Code Compliance cases that have been developed by Code Compliance Officers. Locating properties through google and finding ownership of properties. Generating and typing correspondence, reports and other related documents. Research records for compliance status in computer system. Log violations, inspections and case histories in system. Deal with the public and establish and maintain effective working relationships with municipal officials and fellow employees. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Duties
- Answering Phones
- Storing and/or maintaining information in written or electronic form;
- Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paper work;
- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
- Using computers, enter data, or process information.
- Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish the work;
- Providing information to supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
- Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge;
- Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards;
- Prepare interpretive reports on recommendation; and
- Perform other work as assigned that includes but is not limited to: assisting with and attend community/special functions coordinated throughout the City, and undertake assignments/projects assigned by the department head.
Skills/ability to: Provide excellent public relations and people skills, be a good listener and communicator. Strengths in record keeping and organization important. Proficient in use Microsoft office applications and general internet research. Must be detailed and a good typist. Must have a valid Driver’s License and HS diploma. College degree preferred.
