Overview
We are seeking a full-time on-site Full Charge Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant at our office located in the uptown area of Dallas, Texas. The role involves creating financial statements, journal entries, bookkeeping, invoice processing, annual financial audit, payroll taxes, general accounting duties plus administrative duties as assistant to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management review.
- Entry of journal entries.
- Reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts.
- Completion of payroll taxes and submission of 941 forms/unemployment tax forms.
- Ensure accurate reconciliations tracking down any differences to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions using QuickBooks.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook to create/update reports, edit monthly minutes and communicate internally/externally.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations in all financial activities.
- Timely month-end and year-end closing procedures in preparation for annual audits.
- Work with outside auditor to complete annual audit.
- Bring issues to management's attention immediately for resolution.
Skills
- Strong technical accounting skills with a solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and the ability to create financial statements, enter journal entries and reconcile accounts.
- Experience with payroll taxes and submission of 941 forms/unemployment tax forms.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to track down differences during reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Timely preparation of monthly financial statements and reports for management review.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions using QuickBooks.
- High proficiency and experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Experience with month-end and year-end closing processes and preparation of necessary documentation for audits.
- Ability to take on add-hoc tasks as they arise.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred.
- Strong references are a must.
