As an Underwriting Support Specialist I, you will support underwriting operations by processing activities that help the company expand its product offering. Success in the role centers around the timeliness of work completed and accuracy. Responsibilities & Qualifications In this role, you can expect to: Use company systems to electronically process applications and quotes, issue policies and policy changes, cancel and reinstate policies, and apply experience modifiers. Review electronic requests and identify what action needs to be taken. Enter data into systems to complete and process electronic policy transactions and maintain policyholder and agent records within established time and quality standards. Consult electronic resources and communicate with internal staff to find missing information and then enter the missing information into company systems. Provide clerical support for underwriting staff by responding to routine inquiries and requests for assistance from staff, policyholders, and agents. Use company systems to run and distribute standard underwriting reports, such as loss run data, at the request of management, underwriting staff, policyholders, and agents. Analyze workload, establish priorities, and manage desk to focus on customer needs within established quality and time service standards. It's required that you: Have a high school diploma. Have 2-4 years of experience in data entry, clerical, customer service, or insurance experience or equivalent education, training, or experience. Are able to type at least 35 words per minute. Training and in-office expectations: Training spans 24 weeks. We will help to ensure you are prepared and successful in your new career! During the 24 weeks of training, approximately 5-6 weeks will take place in-person at our office in Austin, TX. After training, you will have more flexibility to work a flex-hybrid schedule, with at least two mandatory in-office days per month. Flex-Hybrid Work Environment: Texas Mutual’s flex-hybrid schedule allows you to bring your best self to work by either working remotely or collaborating in the office based on business needs. All Texas Mutual employees are required to have Texas residency and travel to their designated office as needed.
