Position : Clerk Mental Health Billing [1073]
Program : Amarillo, Texas – Mental Health Provider Billing
Salary : $15.66 / hr. - $16.55 / hr.
Shift available : Full-time
Essential duties and responsibilities :
Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
Responsible for waiver program billing
Responsible for processing / posting payments and denials
Responsible for obtaining / entering prior authorizations and renewals
Responsible for reconciling reports as requested
Will train / participate with implementation team for new EHR system
Assist the Information Technology department with help-desk support as needed
Adheres to TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns if ethical and / or business standards defined in the code are compromised
Required qualifications to be successful in the job :
Either a high school diploma or GED
One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work; or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE)
One (1) year clerical experience
Proven experience in a customer support role
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer services skills required
Attention to detail is critical
Strong written, verbal and organization skills
Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred qualifications to be successful in the job :
Six (6) months billing experience
Previous experience with Behavioral Health billing specific to prior authorizations and appealing denials
Proven experience in a customer support role
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer services skills required
Attention to detail is critical
Strong written, verbal and organization skills
