Position: Clerk Mental Health Billing [1073]
Program: Amarillo, Texas – Mental Health Provider Billing
Salary: $15.66/hr. - $16.55/hr.
Shift available: Full-time
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
- Responsible for waiver program billing
- Responsible for processing/posting payments and denials
- Responsible for obtaining/entering prior authorizations and renewals
- Responsible for reconciling reports as requested
- Will train/participate with implementation team for new EHR system
- Assist the Information Technology department with help-desk support as needed
- Adheres to TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised
Required qualifications to be successful in the job:
- Either a high school diploma or GED
- One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work; or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE)
- One (1) year clerical experience
- Proven experience in a customer support role
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer services skills required
- Attention to detail is critical
- Strong written, verbal and organization skills
- Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred qualifications to be successful in the job:
- Six (6) months billing experience
- Previous experience with Behavioral Health billing specific to prior authorizations and appealing denials
- Proven experience in a customer support role
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer services skills required
- Attention to detail is critical
- Strong written, verbal and organization skills
